When we meet them, most of the cats we take in are more shadow than substance, their bodies broken and their spirits shattered. We fight for every single one, even when the odds are stacked against us, because we promised them that as long as they have the will to fight, we will fight right alongside them.
But that promise can’t always save them. We’ve seen so many cats who were ready to live, only to have their little bodies give out from under them, exhausted and drained from a lifetime of suffering. We pour all of our hope into their fragile lives, knowing that our hearts might break at any moment.
Still, we never give up. We’ll go to the ends of the earth for them, as long as it means giving them a chance at a life without pain. These stories are a glimpse into the battles they’ve fought and the incredible transformations they’ve made. They’re a reminder of the power of hope and the resilience of a spirit that refuses to be broken.
The first cat who came to us after we started from 0 again. She stayed so tiny for so long that we pushed for her surgery, where the doctors removed the remains of her eyes. Once healed, she finally started growing.
Poor little Siem, the fluffball that everyone was in love with. So full of love and always asking for attention. Sadly we lost him unexpectedly to neurologic FIP
Found outside near a hotel all alone. The family wanted to take him home. Sadly afterwards they changed their mind. After his eye surgery Mickey was doing perfectly until he got a bad, fast-growing polyp in his ear. Because the polyp was so big, it closed his earway. We chose to close the ear because we didn’t want to force him into surgery every 6 months because it would keep growing back. And he was already deaf in that ear. Now he is again a happy floof that is busy getting cuddled by his many girlfriends.
Milo was found together with his sister Daisy. All alone in a garden, and both needed urgent help. Milo is the quietest one of this duo. He is still scared for people, whereas Daisy is a sassy girl who will claim her attention.
